Charles Bradley, es sinónimo de Soul desgarrado, sudoroso y triste, de artillería pesada y de mucho dolor, auténtico HEART OF GOLD.
Con 62 años le llegaría su gran oportunidad, firmar por Daptone Records y certificar un excelente disco titulado “No time for dreaming”, un álbum en el que nada más pincharlo te llenas de sudor y polvo y te engulle hacia un mar de música bien negra.
Charles Bradley, conocido como “The Screaming Eagle of Soul” a sus 64 años de edad se embarca en otra gira europea con su banda de acompañamiento “His Extraordinaires”, después de acompañarlo muchos años Sugarman & Co., The Bullets, Menahan Street Band y The Gospel Queens.
Recientemente en el festival de Austin, el SXSW se estrenó un documental acerca de la vida y obra de Charles Bradley titulado “Charles Bradley: Soul of America”, su tortuosa historia llevada a la gran pantalla, en el que a sus 62 años de edad, ve como su carrera musical por fin, le es reconocida. Sus comienzos trabajando como cocinero y mal viviendo en las calles, sus viajes por todo el país, un hermano asesinado, cuidado de su madre durante su niñez, mil situaciones caóticas, hasta que Daptone Records llama a su puerta en el 2010.
El próximo 25 de abril estará muy cerca ese torrente de voz de Rhythm & Blues con nosotros, visitantado Casablanca, Marruecos en el Jazzablanca, de ahí saltará hacia París, Bruselas, Groningen, Copenhague, para luego en mayo volver de gira a Estados Unidos, volver a Europa y España con dos citas en Vitoria en el Azkena Rock Festival, 15 y 16 de junio y quedarse en Europa hasta el 30 de junio.
