Premios Grammy 2014 y sus nominaciones, 56th GRAMMY Awards

La 56ª edición de los premios Grammy, se celebrará el próximo 26 de enero en el Staples Center de Los Angeles, nominaciones que fueron presentadas el pasado viernes 6 de diciembre de 2013 en la que Jay Z lidera con nueve nominaciones los premios Grammy incluyendo mejor álbum de Rap, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Justin Timberlake, y Pharrell Williams tienen siete nominaciones, y Drake y el ingeniero Bob Ludwig cuentan con cinco nominaciones, Daft Punk, Lorde, Kacey Musgraves y Taylor Swift, con cuatro nominaciones. The Beatles, Armando Manzanero, Clifton Chenier, The Isley Brothers, Kraftwerk, Kris Kristofferson, y Maud Powell recibirán el los Lifetime Achievement Award (Premios a una larga trayectoria); Rick Hall, Jim Marshall y Ennio Morricone recibirán el Trustees Award (Premio de la academia a su contribución artística); y Emile Berliner y Lexicon ganadores del Grammy técnico.

La cantante Carole King, será coronada como “Personaje del año” según el sindicato de la industria musical estadounidense en el MusiCares, fiesta paralela de la entrega de premios Grammy’s.

Los premios Grammy están compuestos por 78 categorías y 38 géneros musicales, se  seotorgan por votación de los miembros de la academia National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences y se da la circunstancia que en la entrega de premios del 2014 aparecen como nominados nombres legendarios como The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Neil Young, Black Sabbath. Herb Alpert, Anthrax, Tony Bennet, Emmylou Harris, Led Zeppelin, Gloria Estefan, Earl Klugh, Steve Martin, Nine Inch Nails, Nile Rodgers, Mavis Staples, Dionne Warwick o Paul McCartney.

Como datos estadísticos Paul McCartney está nominado en esta edición de los Grammy’s 2014 en cuatro categorías, The Rolling Stones en tres obtentiendo tres Grammy’s por  el mejor álbum de Rock y mejor vídeo (Love is Strong) en 1985 por «Voodoo Lounge» y al de toda una carrera (Lifetime Achievement Award) en 1987, David Bowie tiene dos nominaciones y ha ganado el premio en dos ocasiones.

Herb Alpert cantante y trompetista de 78 años de Tijuana Brass está nominado para el mejor álbum instrumental Pop, ha ganado el premio en dos ocasiones, Anthrax nominados para el mejor álbum de Metal, Tony Bennet con 87 años con una nominación ha ganado el premio en 17 ocasiones y Black Sabbath con Ozzy de 65 años está nominado en tres categorías.

Emmylou Harris de 66 años, junto a Rodney Crowell de 63, tienen una nominación, ella ha ganado el Grammy en 12 ocasiones, el guitarrista de Jazz Earl Klugh de 60 años tiene una nominación, Led Zeppelin tiene tres nominaciones y Nine Inch Niles tiene una nominación, ha ganado dos Grammys hasta el momento.

Steve Martin de 68 años  y Edie Brickell de 48 tienen una nominación, el actor ya ganó un Grammy en el 2001 por un disco homenaje a Earl Scruggs en el que tocaba el banjo, Nile Rodgers de 61 años, fundador de Chic está nominado en varias categorías con Daft Punk.

Dionne Warwick de 72 años tiene una nominación, y lo ha ganado en 8 ocasiones, Mavis Staples de 73 años nominada por un Grammy lo ha ganado también en una ocasión con los The Staple Singers, y Neil Young de 68 años tiene una nominación.
