The Black Cadillacs quinteto norteamericano de Southern Soul y Blues proveniente desde la ciudad de Knoxville en Tennessee estará de gira por España el próximo mes de abril para presentar su segundo trabajo titulado «Run» editado en el 2012 tras su primer álbum «All Them Witches» (2010).
The Black Cadillacs la componen Will Horton (voz), Matthew Hyrka (guitarra), Philip Anderson (bajo), Adam Bonomo (batería) y John Phillips (guitarra) desde el año 2009 y en la que el pasado año fueron galardonos en varias revistas musicales de Nashville y Memphis como una de las bandas noveles más prometedoras.
The Black Cadillacs comienzan su gira europea por primera vez el próximo 21 marzo en Francia, visitando países como Alemania, Bélgica, Holanda y España.

The Black Cadillacs, responde a las preguntas de Dirty Rock magazine en la siguiente entrevista.
| 1. First European and Spanish Tour for The Black Cadillacs. Which are your expectations? | Primera gira europea y española para The Black Cadillacs. ¿Cuáles son vuestras espectativas? |
| We don’t really know what to expect. We hope to meet a lot of great people and win some new fans. | Realmente no lo sabemos, esperamos conocer a un montón de gente y ganarnos nuevos seguidores. |
| 2. In sitting down to record «Run», what were your goals and do you think you accomplished them? | ¿Discutiendo sobre la grabación de vuestro disco «Run», cuáles fueron vuestros objetivos y si ellos se lograron? |
| Our goal was to make the best record we could and we feel like we accomplished that goal. We had a collection of songs that made sense together and we hoped people would respond positively. So far, that seems to be the case. | Nuestra meta fue hacer el mejor disco posible y creemos que lo hemos conseguido. Tenemos una colección de canciones que tienen sentido juntas y esperamos que el público lo acoja positivamente. Hasta el momento parece ir por ese camino. |
| 3. How did «Run» come together? What do you think the different members bring to the table ? | ¿Cuál fue el punto de encuentro para realizar «Run» y qué aportó cada uno de vosotros al disco? |
| Most of the songs were written as a group based on ideas brought to the table by one member or the other. We lived with the songs for a while and played them live during the Summer/Fall of 2011 and took them into the studio that Winter. We felt like the songs got stronger and tighter on the road and we were happy with the material when we went into the studio. | La mayoría de las canciones fueron escritas como grupo pero con ideas traídas por cada uno de sus componentes. Vivimos con esas canciones durante una gira de verano y otoño en el 2011, hasta que las llevamos al estudio en otoño. Percibimos que las canciones tomaron más cuerpo durante aquella y estamos muy contentos de haberlas llevado al estudio. |
| 4. Should be a story behind the title of your new album? | ¿Hay alguna historia detrás del título del nuevo disco? |
| We felt that a similar thread in the subject matter of the songs was the theme of forward momentum. We all felt like the band was becoming something bigger than the individual members and «Run» made sense to us as a way to explain that feeling. | Nos pareció que un hilo similar en el tema de las canciones fue el tema de impulso hacia adelante. Todos sentimos que la banda se hacía grande cada vez más y «Run» tiene sentido para nosotros de la manera que lo explica. |
| 5. How would you describe The Black Cadillacs sound and who are your biggest musical influences? | ¿Podéis describirnos el sonido de The Black Cadillacs y cuáles son vuestras principales influencias musicales? |
| We describe our music as «Blues Based Indie Rock». Early in our careers, we were influenced by classic bands like the Rolling Stones and the Who but we also listen to everything from 90’s indie rock like Pavement to current bands like My Morning Jacket and Wilco. | Describimos nuestra música como «Blues basado en Rock independiente». Could you tell Spanish audience The Black Cadillacs musical background and Who inspires you to do what you do and which musicians that have influenced your sound and approach to creating your own style of music? | ¿Podéis contar a vuestra audiencia en España vuestra experiencia y aprendizaje musical y qué os inspira al realizarla? |
| We all started playing music in our teens. Musicians like the Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix inspired us to start playing. Now that we are playing music professionally, we admire current bands like Jack White, My Morning Jacket, Wilco, Steve Malkmus and the Jicks, Queens of the Stone Age, J Roddy Walston and the Business, TV on the Radio, etc. We admire bands that have maintained careers by making great music. | Todos comenzamos tocando música desde niños. Músicos como The Rolling Stones o Jimi Hendrix nos inspiraron a comenzar. Ahora que somos profesionales, admiramos bandas como Jack White, My Morning Jacket, Wilco, Steve Malkmus and the Jicks, Queens of the Stone Age, J Roddy Walston and the Business, TV on the Radio, etc. Admiramos aquellas bandas que han mantenido sus carreras con grandes canciones y música. |
| 7. What do you think about the Tennessee music scene where you live, Any good song, record, band you lately like? | ¿Qué pensáis sobre la escena musical actual en Tennessee que es dónde vivís, y si hay algún disco, banda o canción que haya gustado recientemente? |
| There are tons of great bands from TN. We’ve had the pleasure of sharing the stage with several of them. We know so many personally, that it’s hard to list bands for fear of leaving anyone out but here are a few (in no particular order): The Weeks (Nashville), Kingston Springs (Nashville), Jeff the Brotherhood (Nashville), The Memphis Dolls (Memphis), Star and Micey (Memphis), and as we mentioned, several others. | Hay un montón de grandes bandas de Tennessee. Hemos tenido el placer de compartir escenario con muchas de ellas y además las conocemos personalmente. | 8. How are The Black Cadillacs on the stage? Are you preparing new stuff for your next album? | ¿Cómo son The Black Cadillacs encima de un escenario? y ¿estáis preparando nuevos temas para un futuro álbum? |
| We put on a high energy, fun show. We are always writing and working on new material. We hope to make a new album in the near future. | Ponemos muchísimas energía y diversión en cada uno de nuestros conciertos. Siempre estamos escribiendo y trabajando para nuevo material. Esperamos hacer un nuevo disco en un futuro muy próximo. |
| 9. Do you know Spanish Rock & Roll music, artist, etc? | ¿Conoces algún músico o artista español? |
| Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the Spanish rock scene. We hope to learn while we’re there! | Desafortunadamente no conocemos mucho sobre la escena rockera española. ¡Esperamos conocerla cuando estemos allí! |
| 10. Is There anything you want to tell us we won’t ask you? | ¿Hay algo que queráis decir que no os hayamos preguntado? |
| We are very excited to play in Spain! It has been a goal of ours since we formed the band to play shows in Spain. | ¡Estamos muy entusiasmados de tocar en España! Ha sido una de nuestras metas. |
