New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival en su 46ª edición ha ofrecido los nombres de su nueva edición para el 2015 que se celebrará durante dos fines de semana del 24 al 26 de abril y del 30 de abril al 3 de mayo con un cartel algo variopinto y extraño en mezclar estilo como Elton John, The Who, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Jimmy Buffett, No Doubt, Pitbull, John Legend o Chicago.
A pesar de ello el festival New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Fest siempre cuenta con grandísimos nombres que completarán el cartel como The Meters, Dr. John, Irma Thomas, Allen Toussaint, Aaron Neville, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Galactic with Macy Gray, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, the Rebirth Brass Band, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Big Freedia, T.I., Ryan Adams, Wilco, Sturgill Simpson, Ed Sheeran, Kacey Musgraves, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Cliff, Jerry Lee Lewis, Steve Winwood, entre otros.
Más de 500 bandas y nombres repartidos por la ciudad de Nueva Orleans durante siete días, en el que se conjuga música, arte en todas sus disciplinas y muchísima gastronomía (gastronomía traída desde África, Francia y España, el creole o cajun food) por varias zonas de Nueva Orleans y el centro de la ciudad, tuvo sus comienzos en 1968 y en el que los más grandes han caído por esas tierras, desde Duke Ellington, pasando por Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong y asociando estilos musicales que van muy arraigados con la ciudad y el estado como son el Rock, Blues, R&B, Gospel Cajun , zydeco, Afro-Caribbean, Folk, Latin, Rap, Country , Bluegrass, Roots Music y muchísimo Jazz.
Nueva Orleans es la cuna de la música, el origen de todo, que incidiría en el siglo XIX con esos esclavos llegados desde África, el aprendizaje del Blues y sus orígenes desde Mali, Senegal o Nigeria hasta el Delta de Mississipi, desembocando en Louisiana y la capital del Mardi Gras (carnaval), que es Nueva Orleans.
