Uno de los festivales más importantes del mundo como es el The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival en Nueva Orleans acaba de anunciar su cartel para su edición número 50 con un cartel realmente apabullante.
Festival que se celebrará entre el 25 abril y el 5 de mayo compuesto por The Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews Band, Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band, Chris Stapleton, Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, Santana, Van Morrison, o Al Green, entre otros.
Más de 500 mil personas acudirán a la ciudad de Nueva Orleans durante esos dos fines de semana de un total de más de quinientas bandas y nombres repartidos por la ciudad de Nueva Orleans durante siete días, en el que se conjuga música, arte en todas sus disciplinas y muchísima gastronomía (gastronomía traída desde África, Francia y España, el creole o cajun food) por varias zonas de Nueva Orleans y el centro de la ciudad, tuvo sus comienzos en 1968 y en el que los más grandes han caído por esas tierras, desde Duke Ellington, pasando por Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong y asociando estilos musicales que van muy arraigados con la ciudad y el estado como son el Rock, Blues, R&B, Gospel Cajun , zydeco, Afro-Caribbean, Folk, Latin, Rap, Country , Bluegrass, Roots Music y muchísimo Jazz.
Nueva Orleans es la cuna de la música, el origen de todo, que incidiría en el siglo XIX con esos esclavos llegados desde África, el aprendizaje del Blues y sus orígenes desde Mali, Senegal o Nigeria hasta el Delta de Mississipi, desembocando en Louisiana y la capital del Mardi Gras (carnaval), que es Nueva Orleans.
Las entradas para asistir al The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival cada uno de los ocho días cuesta 75 dólares, unos 66 euros aproximadamente.
