Monster Magnet is about to release their covers album: A Better Dystopia
Monster Magnet has announced a new covers album full of nods to the songs and bands from the 60’s and 70’s that have left their mark on them, including Hawkind, Table Scraps, Dust, The Scientists, or Poo-Bah among others. The album, A Better Dystopia, will be out on May 21st. Take a look at a sneak peek, Pooh-Bah’s “Mr. Destroyer”:
«A Better Dystopia» cuenta con Wyndorf, los guitarristas Phil Caivano y Garret Sweeny, el bajista Alec Morton y el batería Bob Pantella. Monster Magnet quieren homenajear aquella época, muchas veces sin gloria y que precedió al rock en grandes estadios, el heavy metal, el reggae y el disco, una música en tierra de nadie del hard rock que todavía tenía restos de psicodelia y garage punk, pero que había abandonado cualquier noción de flower power.
A Better Dystopia features Wyndorf, guitarists Phil Caivano and Garret Sweeny, bassist Alec Morton and drummer Bob Pantella. Monster Magnet pays tribute to the seemingly sordid era that preceded arena rock, heavy metal, reggae and disco; a time when this kind of music, utterly detached from the popular ‘flower power’ of that age, was basically the no man’s land of hard rock, mixed up with bits and pieces of psychedelia and garage punk.
