Como era de esperar, el primer adelanto que conocemos de Reigning Sound es otra buena dosis de garage rock y soul de Memphis. Han pasado más de 15 años desde que Greg Cartwright se mudó a Asheville en Carolina del Norte, pero este nuevo disco hecho en Memphis muestra al compositor en plena forma y totalmente inspirado en su lugar de nacimiento. Y no solo el terreno es familiar, ya qe para este nuevo LP, Cartwright también se reunió con la formación original de Reigning Sound con Jeremy Scott (bajo), Greg Roberson (batería) y Alex Greene (teclados)
Las nuevas canciones exploran nuevos territorios líricos y musicales, pero a veces también se remontan con buen gusto a Break Up, Break Down (2001) y Time Bomb High School (2002), es lo que ocurren cuando estos músicos entran en una misma habitación para grabar. Su química sónica no se ha desvanecido ni un poco.

Reigning Sound have announced the release of their first album in 7 years with A Little More Time With Reigning Sound, the follow-up to Shattered, released back in 2014. The new album will be available on May 21st.

Unsurprisingly, the first glimpse into Reigning Sound’s new album is another discharge of Memphis garage rock and soul. It’s been more than 15 years since Greg Cartwright moved to Asheville, North Carolina, but this new Memphis-made record makes it clear that the songwriter is on his game and still totally inspired by his hometown. And it’s not just the geography that’s familiar, Cartwright has also reunited with the original Reigning Sound line-up for the new LP: Jeremy Scott (bass), Greg Roberson (drums) and Alex Greene (keyboards).
The new tracks explore new lyrical and musical territories, while at times, tastefully going back to their Break Up, Break Down (2001) and Time Bomb High School (2002) roots. This is what happens when you put these musicians in the same room to lay down a record: their sonic chemistry hasn’t faded one bit.
