The latest side project of JP Harris is called ‘JP Harris’ Dreadful Wind & Rain’. They have just announced that after teaming up with Chance McCoy, they will be releasing their album called Don’t You Marry No Railroad Man, on June 25th. Take a sneak peek at their single called “Closer to the Mill (Going to California)”:
Don’t You Marry No Railroad Man is the first traditional music recording under the moniker JP Harris’s Dreadful Wind and Rain, and it features ten tracks that span the breadth of the American repertoire of yesteryear. Harris’ banjo and violin tunes wade through some of the old ballads that traveled from the British Isles to the Appalachians, alongside his old friend and member of the Old Crow Medicine Show, Chance McCoy, who produced the record in his West Virginia makeshift studio located in an old barn.
