«Finding Wildflowers (Alternate Versions)« de Tom Petty, que formó parte de la edición Super Deluxe del boxset Wildflowers & All The Rest que se lanzó el año pasado, acaba de publicarse individualmente.
Tom Petty’s Finding Wildflowers (Alternate Versions), part of the Super Deluxe box set ‘Wildflowers & All The Rest’ that was released last year, has just been released as an individual, separate album.
Finding Wildflowers (Alternate Versions) contiene 16 grabaciones de estudio de versiones alternativas, versiones largas e improvisaciones de las canciones del álbum «Wildflowers» en las que Petty, los otros integrantes de la banda y el coproductor Rick Rubin trabajaron para hacer el álbum en 1994. Finding Wildflowers (Alternate Versions) contains 16 studio recordings of alternate versions, long versions and improvisations of the songs on the album Wildflowers, which Petty, the rest of the band and co-producer Rick Rubin worked on while making the original album back in 1994. This separate release gives fans even more access to the Wildflowers songwriting and recording process, revealing the full vision that Petty had in mind for the project.

This collection of songs was produced by Tom’s longtime engineer and co-producer Ryan Ulyate, who listened to 245 24-track tapes in hopes of shedding light on the evolution of the songwriting process and the band’s willingness to do whatever it took to unmask the essence and magic of the material.
La idea original de Petty era hacer un disco de doble duración pero lo convencieron de no hacerlo. En varias oportunidades, el músico habló de la posibilidad de sacar a la luz el material inédito que le quedó, y había empezado a trabajar en una nueva edición al momento de su muerte en 2017. Debido a una batalla legal, el lanzamiento del box set se retrasó y no coincidió con el 25 aniversario de la publicación del álbum original.
Initially, Petty’s idea was to release Wildflowers as a double LP, but he was convinced not to do so. On several occasions the musician spoke of the possibility of bringing the unpublished material to light, and he had even started working on a new release at the time of his death in 2017. Due to a legal battle, the release of the box set was delayed and it was impossible for it to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the release of the original album.
