Greg Prevost es uno de los nuestros. Líder de The Chesterfield Kings, una de las bandas que más alegría nos ha dado con sus discos y sus giras a los amantes del buen rock clásico. Siempre han tenido una gran relación con nuestro país y con nuestra revista. Así que cuando nos pidió que diéramos su versión sobre la escandalosa aparición de unos supuestos “The Chesterfield Kings” – que nada tienen que ver con el espíritu original de la banda- le dijimos que adelante.
Su mensaje es claro. Ahora está solo, acabó con la banda y ahora hay gente está usando su nombre y su logotipo pero ¡¡YO NO estoy en eso!!
Aprovechamos el momento para recordaros que Greg tiene una discografía en solitario fantástica y que dentro de muy poco vamos a tener un nuevo lanzamiento. Estaremos muy atentos.

Quería mencionar:
CUIDADO con una banda FALSA de CHESTERFIELD KINGS. Aquí está mi comentario. Soy GREG ‘STACKHOUSE’ PREVOST solista (el nuevo álbum saldrá PRONTO). Como ya saben, pero algunos tipos falsos intentan fingir que son mis vieja banda Chesterfield Kings. LA ÚLTIMA PALABRA-OK,. No seré sarcástico ni cómico. Este es sólo mi ÚLTIMO comentario sobre el tema «Reunión de Chesterfield Kings después de 15 años» que está deambulando por ahí.
Esto no es cierto, como ya señalé – NO ES UNA REUNIÓN -. La formación original y los miembros fundadores no están incluidos. YO DI NOMBRE A LA BANDA. La comencé con Rick Cona, Doug Meech y Bob Ames en 1978, cuando todos los miembros de la ‘nueva’ formación de la banda eran niños de primaria. Y el grupo que llevó la antorcha durante la última década, tres de los cinco miembros que aparecieron en el último álbum de la banda, “GOT LIVE”, tampoco están incluidos en esta ‘reunión’. Tampoco lo están ninguno de los miembros de finales de los 80 hasta mediados de los 90. Alineaciones de los 90. Así que NO es una reunión de ningún tipo. Es una estafa y un vehículo para crear un grupo sacando provecho del nombre de una banda de una época pasada.
Le dije a un ex miembro que quería reiniciar la banda hace cuatro o cinco años pero no estaba interesado en usar el nombre de Chesterfield Kings. Yy que NO tenía interés en volver a algo que ya hice, que ya había terminado, era un viejo capítulo de mi libro vital. Si querían andar por ahí como “The Chesterfield Kings” no me importaría. Me reinventé como solista, Greg ‘Stackhouse’ Prevost. Y ya sabeis esto y cuántas cosas he hecho desde entonces (4 álbumes, uno nuevo en camino, singles, libro, etc., etc.) Aunque no No sanciono, respeto ni doy mi bendición a este nuevo grupo, por mí está bien. No tengo ningún problema con eso. A POR ELLO.
Pero esperaba algún tipo de presentación de The “NEW” Chesterfield Kings. O algún indicio de que era una “nueva” versión de la banda con los ex miembros mencionados. NO llamarlos tan descaradamente Chesterfield Kings. ¿Por qué no lo llamarían algo así como “Psychedelic Sunrise, con ex miembros de los Ckings”, una banda NUEVA? De hecho, lo respetaría. ¿POR QUÉ llamarlo ‘The Chesterfield Kings’ y usar, como foto promocional, una imagen naranja distorsionada, borrosa y sombría y colocar el logo original de la banda Un logo que pedí a mi amigo y mentor Aleck Janoulis que creara PERSONALMENTE para mí en 1981, y del que ÉL posee los derechos (y yo podría fácilmente poner fin a su uso), luego NO nombrar a ninguno de los miembros de este grupo e INSINUAR que ESTOY involucrado en ello,…
ENTONCES tienen a esas pequeñas “abejas obreras” enojadas que están monitoreando esta nueva página de “The Chesterfield Kings” que representa a este grupo; monitorean esta página las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana (y he escuchado esto literalmente de docenas y docenas de personas). Cada vez que alguien pregunta “¿Dónde está Greg? Él no está en esa foto”. o «¿Greg Prevost está en esta versión de la banda?» las abejitas enojadas se vuelven hostiles, arrogantes, insultantes y luego BLOQUEAN a quien hizo la pregunta simple que requeriría una respuesta simple de “sí” o “no”.
No muestran NINGÚN respeto a los fans REALES del grupo que apoyaron a la banda a través de los años. ¿Es esta la manera de ganarse el respeto por esta nueva banda? En serio. Completamente equivocado. Mal negocio. Se sienten TAN intimidados y amenazados por la mera mención de mi nombre cuando alguien pregunta si estoy involucrado o no, es patético.
Me odian, pero SABEN que si dicen “No, él no está en esta banda”, su gloria se hunde. Mi consejo para ellos es que sean HONESTOS. QUE DIGAN a la gente QUIÉN está en la banda y sean civilizados y MUESTREN RESPETO a las personas que pagaron para ver la banda a lo largo de los años, compraron los discos y CDS de la banda y apreciaron la música que hizo la banda. ¡Bien, así es! BUENA SUERTE a estos chicos. —
PD: Yo fácilmente podría haber llamado a The Shitkicker Rebellion “The Chesterfield Kings” allá por diciembre de 2022, cuando hice una tienda en House Of Guitars promocionando mi autobiografía (ON THE STREET I MET A DOG -y The Definitive Story Of The Chesterfield Kings) y el álbum “Vintage Violence 1975-1979”. Tocamos un breve set en vivo de algunos de nuestros viejos temas. The Shitkicker Rebellion éramos Rick Cona, Paul Morabito y Zach Koch, todos los cuales fueron miembros clave de los Chesterfield Kings a lo largo de los años, pero eso habría sido una farsa, y NO The Chesterfield Kings. De todos modos, si alguien tuviera “derecho” a llamarse así, esta sería la única formación que podría lograrlo.

Greg Prevost is one of us. Leader of The Chesterfield Kings, one of the bands that has given us the most joy with its albums and tours to lovers of good classic rock. They have always had a great relationship with our country and with our magazine. So when he asked us to give his version of the scandalous appearance of some supposed “The Chesterfield Kings” – which have nothing to do with the original spirit of the band – we told him to go ahead.
His message is clear: Now he is alone, he ended the band and now there are people using his name and his logo but I am NOT in that!! ¡

Hola!! LOve your works as you know!! I wanted to mention BEWARE of a FAKE CHESTERFIELD KINGS band–here is my commentary–I am solo GREG ‘STACKHOUSE’ PREVOST (new album out SOON) as you already know–but some fake guys trying to pretend they are my old band Chesterfield Kings–THE LAST WORD—OK I won’t be sarcastic or comedic-this is just my LAST commentary concerning the «Chesterfield Kings Reunion after 15 years» trip that is ambling around–that is not true as I already pointed out—NOT a REUNION–the original lineup and founding members are not included-I NAMED THE BAND-I started it with Rick Cona, Doug Meech and Bob Ames in 1978 when all of the members in the ‘new’ band lineup were children in grade school.
The group that carried the torch for the last decade plus, three of the five members appearing on the band’s last album GOT LIVE, are not included in this ‘reunion’ either-neither are any of the members from the late ‘80s to mid-90s lineups. So it is NOT a reunion of any sort, but a scam and a vehicle to come out with some group cashing in on the name of a band from a bygone era. I told a former member who was wanting to re-start the band four or five years ago that I was not interested in using the Chesterfield Kings name, and I had NO interest in stepping back into something that I already did, was over with, and an old chapter in my book.
If they wanted to go around as “the Chesterfield Kings” I didn’t care. I re-invented myself as a solo artist, Greg ‘Stackhouse’ Prevost and you already know this and how many things I have done since that time (4 albums, new one on the way, singles, book etc etc.)
Although I don’t sanction, respect, or give my blessing to this this new group, it’s fine with me. I have NO problem with it. GO FOR IT. I expected some kind of The “NEW” Chesterfield Kings featuring——-or some indication that it was a «new» version of the band with former members mentioned. NOT blatantly calling it the Chesterfield Kings. Why wouldn’t they call it something like ‘Psychedelic Sunrise-featuring former members of the Ckings’ a NEW band—I’d actually respect that.
WHY call it ‘The Chesterfield Kings,’ and as a promo photo, use a blurry, shadowy distorted orange image and plunk in the original band logo (that I had my friend and mentor Aleck Janoulis create PERSONALLY for me back in 1981-and that HE owns the rights to–and I could easy put a stop to the use of), then NOT name any of the members in this group-INSINUATE that I AM involved with it—
THEN you have the angry little “worker bees” that are monitoring this new “Chesterfield Kings” page that represents this group-they monitor this page 24-7, (and I have heard this from literally dozens and dozens of people) whenever anyone asks “Where is Greg? He is not in that photo.” or “Is Greg Prevost in this version of the band?” the angry little bees get hostile, arrogant, insulting and then BLOCK whoever asked the simple question that would require a simple “yes” or “no” answer. They are showing NO respect to REAL fans of the group who supported the band through the years. Is this the way to gain respect for this new band? Seriously. Totally WRONG. Bad Business.
They are SO intimidated and threatened by the mere mention of my name when someone inquires if I am involved or not it is pathetic. They hate me, yet KNOW if they say “No, he is not in this band” their glory takes a dive. My advice to them is to be HONEST. TELL people WHO is in the band and be civilized and SHOW RESPECT to people who paid to see the band over the years, bought the bands’ records and CDS and appreciated the music the band did. OK—that it is! GOOD LUCK to these guys. —
PS: I could have easily called The Shitkicker Rebellion ‘The Chesterfield Kings’ back in the December of 2022 when I did an in-store at the House Of Guitars promoting my autobiography (ON THE STREET I MET A DOG-and The Definitive Story Of The Chesterfield Kings) and the ‘Vintage Violence 1975-1979’ album. We played a short live set of some of our old numbers. The Shitkicker Rebellion was myself, Rick Cona, Paul Morabito and Zach Koch -all of which were key members in the Chesterfield Kings over the years, but that would have been a sham, and NOT the Chesterfield Kings anyway—and if anyone had a “right” to call it that, this would be the only lineup that could pull that off.
