Telepathy visitan España por primera vez.
En concreto las Islas Canarias. Así que estarán el próximo 2 de Febrero en Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Lone Star) y 3 de Febrero en Vecindario, Gran Canaria (Teatro Víctor Jara) dentro del festival Teatro Metálico.
Por suerte los de Colchester presentaran por fin su álbum «Tempest» en nuestro país.

Telepathy fusionan elementos de post-metal, sludge, doom y black metal con estructuras de canciones nada convencionales. Parece que es un álbum conceptual, es algo así como la banda sonora de un viaje doloroso de alguien que esta solo en la nada tras una gran inundación.
Por lo que la grabación nos guía desde su despertar hasta su desolación y finalmente a la aceptación. Por eso su directo promete sensaciones de caos bajo su sonido violento y desde luego un concierto de una profundidad emocional y atmosférica nada habitual.

¿Qué esperáis Telepathy de esta primera visita a España?
Estamos todos muy ilusionados en tocar por primera vez en España. Hemos escuchado que muchas bandas no suelen pasar de gira por las Islas Canarias. ¡Esperamos encontrarnos con un gran público deseoso de escuchar riffs!
Siento emoción, enojo y falta de amor en vuestro sonido. ¿Cómo es el proceso de composición de vuestras canciones y cómo llegan esas canciones a la hora de componerlas?
Por lo general, las canciones comienzan cuando uno de nosotros trae un solo riff o parte ella a nuestro estudio de ensayo. Una vez todos nos hemos llenado de ella, y agregamos nuestro propio estilo, construimos la misma como un todo, como un grupo. Decidimos su estructura y concepto. Todo ello se expande desde esa primera idea.

Todas las canciones en «Tempest» fueron meticulosamente escritas y estructuradas antes de entrar al estudio. Algunas veces es un proceso rápido, y esa canción casi se compondrá por sí misma, mientras que en otras ocasiones alguna de ellas nos tomará mucho más tiempo, dependiendo de esa idea inicial, siendo reescritas o cortadas varias veces.
¿Por qué las voces se alzan y surgen en vuestro tema «Echo of Soul»?
Cuando empezamos a escribir esa canción, sabíamos que el núcleo de ese disco tenía que tener profundidad emocional y de una sensación de desesperanza. Una vez escrita aquella sección dura, colectivamente supimos que este era el momento preciso de que debíamos añadir esos coros.
¿Cómo es la relación entre todos los miembros de la banda?
Nuestras almas y espíritus nunca han sido tan arriba y todos nosotros nos sentimos bendecidos de que esta música nos lleve a todas partes del mundo y de conocer a gente maravillosa y admiradores fantásticos en el camino.
¿Improvisáis en vuestro directo?
La verdad es que no, entre canción y canción siempre metemos algo, pero por lo general estructuramos el espectáculo con mucho cuidado para sacar la máxima potencia y emoción de nosotros y del público.
¿Qué soléis hacer en vuestro libre?
A Albert y Piotr les encanta montar y reparar motos, A mi me encanta asistir a conciertos, hacer arte gráfico y hacer música electrónica, y a Ted le gusta hacer ejercicio: tomarse una Guiness helada e irse a pescar.

Probablemente en mi trabajo. «The Boxer» de Simon & Garfunkel.

«For Tempest all the songs were meticulously written and structured before we enter the studio»
What do you expect from your first visit to Spain?
We are all incredibly excited to play our first shows in Spain with Telepathy.
We’ve heard that not many touring bands make it over to the Canary Islands, so we’re hoping for a great crowd in both Tenerife and Gran Canaria who are hungry for riffs!
I sense emotion, anger and lack of love in your atmosphere. How is the compositional process? Do the songs come naturally?
Usually the songs start with one of us bringing a single riff or part into our rehearsal studio.
Once we have all jammed on the idea and everyone has added there individual style, we build the song from there as a group. We decide upon the structures and concepts as a band, and all of this usually expands on that first idea.
For Tempest all the songs were meticulously written and structured before we enter the studio. Sometimes this will be a quick process, and the song will almost write itself, while on other occasions it will take a much longer time for us to be able to see where the initial idea wants to go and songs will be re-written or chopped about multiple times.

Why the voices arise in “Echo of souls”?
When we began writing that track, we knew the centre of the album had to have a real emotional depth and feeling of hopelessness. Once we had written the heavy section we collectively knew this was the precise moment we should add the human voice.
How is the relationship between the members of the group?
Its fantastic, we’ve all been great friends for years and we’re all very excited about the path that Telepathy is on right now.
Spirits have never been higher and we all feel blessed to have this music take us all over the world and to meet all the fantastic people and fans along the way.

Is there improvisation in your live shows?
Not really, in between the tracks there alis room for some small improvisations but in general, we structure the show very carefully to bring the most power and emotion out of ourselves and the audience.

Yes for sure. Albert and Piotr love to ride and repair motorcycles, i love to attend concerts, do graphic art and make electronic music and Ted loves exercise, an ice cold Guiness and fishing.

How is the future of Telepathy?
It’s looking great! After the shows in Tenerife and Gran Canaria we have a small break to work on new music and then a UK tour with Dopelord including a show at Desertfest London, and then a European tour with a couple of great festivals still to announce. In June we will head to northern Germany for another festival.
