Malas noticias y día triste fue este pasado 2 de marzo para todos nosotros porque The Bottle Rockets, han anunciado hoy que se separan. Brian Henneman decide retirarse de la música y, con ello nuestros queridos Bottle Rockets dicen adiós tras alegrarnos la vida durante casi 30 años. Dejan un legado de grandes canciones de rock americano, que presentaron varias veces por nuestro país. Os echaremos de menos, amigos.
La noticia llegó a través de un comunicado en las redes sociales. Según la publicación, el guitarrista, líder y co-líder de la banda Brian Henneman decidió retirarse, y el grupo simplemente no puede continuar sin él.
Los Bottle Rockets se formaron en 1992 a partir de las cenizas de la banda Chicken Truck, y luego de una temporada para Henneman como técnico de guitarra y músico de sesión y giras para Uncle Tupelo. Los compañeros de Henneman, miembros de Chicken Truck, Mark Ortmann (batería) y Tom Parr (guitarra, voz) se unirían a él como miembros fundadores de Bottle Rockets, junto con el bajista Tom V. Ray. La formación más reciente de la banda estaba formada por Henneman, Ortmann, el guitarrista John Horton y el bajista Keith Voegele.
The Bottle Rockets lanzaron su disco debut homónimo en 1992, dos años más tarde con The Brooklyn Side de 1994, que catapultaría a la banda.
El último álbum de la banda, Bit Logic de 2018 , lo vio avanzar por un camino country más tradicional que sus álbumes anteriores. Esperemos que sea un hasta pronto y volvamos a verlos encima de un escenario o estudio a una de nuestras bandas favoritas.

The Bottle Rockets have called it quits
March 2nd was a tragic day, full of bad news, for all of us. The Bottle Rockets have announced that they are calling it quits. Brian Henneman has decided to retire from the music scene, thus marking the end of our beloved Bottle Rockets after almost 30 years of brightening our lives. They are leaving behind a legacy of great American rock songs, which they played for us several times here in our country. We will miss you, friends.
The band’s post on social media confirmed the split: guitarist, frontman, and co-leader Brian Henneman has decided to retire, and the group just can’t go on without him.
The Bottle Rockets emerged, in 1992, from the ashes of the band, Chicken Truck, and after Henneman’s stint as a guitar technician and session and touring musician for Uncle Tupelo. Henneman’s fellow Chicken Truck members Mark Ortmann (drums) and Tom Parr (guitar, vocals) would follow him and together they would found Bottle Rockets, along with bassist Tom V. Ray. The most recent line-up of the band included Henneman, Ortmann, guitarist John Horton and bassist Keith Voegele.
The Bottle Rockets released their self-titled debut album in 1992 and two years later, The Brooklyn Side (2014) would catapult the band to fame.
With the band’s last album, Bit Logic (2018), we witnessed a shift towards a more traditional country sound compared to their previous albums. Let’s hope it’s more of a “see you soon” than a farewell so we can once again see one of our favorite bands back on stage or in a studio.
