Parte fundamental en la creación de los siempre reivindicables Lone Justice (con Maria McKee (voz), Ryan Hedgecock (guitarra) y Marvin Etzioni (bajo) ayudó en estudio y en directo a leyendas como Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Jackson Browne, Dave Alvin, Peter Case,Sam Phillips, Percy Sledge, Big Mama Thornton, Big Joe Turner, Lucinda Williams o Dwight Yoakam entre otros muchos.

El batería, percusionista y guitarrista estadounidense es conocido por sus álbumes en solitario, y como dijimos por su trabajo con Lone Justice y su extenso trabajo de giras y sesiones como batería para Hot Band de Emmylou Harris, tocando en el álbum de 1983 «White Shoes» en «Empire Burlesque» (1986) y «Knocked Out Loaded» (1986), el «Tomorrow the Green Grass» (1995) de The Jayhawks, o «Eleven Eleven« (2011) de Dave Alvin entre otros muchos.
Much loved by his peers, Don Heffington, put his wisdom at the service of a new breed of musicians, headed by some of the usual suspects of the scene, such as the Jayhawks, Victoria Williams, Neal Casal, Chuck Prophet, Buddy Miller, Graham Parker, Rosie Flores, Kathleen Edwards, The Wallflowers, or GospelbeacH, and many more. The American drummer, percussionist and guitarist is known for his solo albums, and the work he did with the aforementioned Lone Justice, as well as extensive touring and drumming sessions for Emmylou Harris’ Hot Band, playing on White Shoes (1983), Empire Burlesque (1986), Knocked Out Loaded (1986), Tomorrow the Green Grass (1995) with The Jayhawks, or Dave Alvin’s Eleven Eleven (2011), among many others.
